Identity : Re-introduction

Monday, September 21, 2015
Hello readers!

I've been changing my blog a lot, I am aware and I have kind of discovered a bit about myself when doing that.

Every time I wanted to make a blog post, I've constantly been nitpicking on how I wanted to portray my blog; how I organized every element, how I wanted my blog to stand out but how should it stick out.

I've come to terms that : I'm very indecisive, I can be very attentive to detail, and I can't settle until I'm completely satisfied with my output.

I've also realized that I couldn't be happy with myself because I kept looking at other people and at their blogs and how I didn't want mine to look like theirs and how I wanted to be 'original'. That I wanted to be my own self but when I look at myself and I look back at them, all I see is a lot of similarities.

I'm still trying to find myself in the midst of all this but hopefully my blog will soon look like how I want it to be.

So hello, I'm Katrina. I'm never truly happy with what I make, but I'm happy with the progress. Eternally frustrated with shortcomings and my own incapability, but forever hopeful. Here's to those who stuck around and watched my blog change over and over again.

Love you all,

PS: I have class tomorrow and a date. I might blog about first day of class for the new term. :)

Another PS: To those who are reading this and are web designers and good with code, maybe you could send me your e-mail and I'd love to see if you could help me make this blog mine :)

Kawaii Definition

Thursday, July 23, 2015
Hello everyone!

A lot of time has passed and today I'll talk about what does Kawaii mean to me!
It's quite personal so I hope you forgive me if I get a bit dramatic here and there ;;

Here we go!
Warning: Also some really old pictures of me during puberty days hahaha!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Years back there was a time I wanted to be really who I wanted to be.

I wanted to get in Steampunk/Lolita/Sporty/Chic styles so much but I lacked the confidence.

I felt I couldn't bring it out in me.

Then, I started following some cute style artwork. Mostly for myself because I found myself spending hours and hours looking through the cute items and just smiling to myself. I loved it and I wanted to be able to be a part of it. I tried making art like that.

When I see people wearing this style, it makes me want to be able to do that. I was jealous of people who can pull off the style. I was always self conscious but I wanted to express myself so badly.

I felt happy just looking at it but it never crossed my mind to internalize it.
I thought,

"I couldn't pull off such a thing"
"I'm not cute, how can anyone find me attractive?"
"People already find me weird as it is.."

But one day, (with help, thank you to those who helped me! ♥ ) I got better at coordinating my outfits and began being more presentable.

I felt my happiness radiating out of me.
I started to have a similar style to what I liked and it made me feel so comfortable.

Soon, I got into it even more and people started noticing it in me.
And then suddenly!

Taken from the Kawaii Philippines Facebook Page!

I've got the 'Kawaii' Style
Kawaii = cute in Japanese.
The style may be deemed "childish" or "cosplay" by those who don't understand it.

I have to say that it's not. It's a just a way of lifestyle.
Kawaii meant being able to appreciate myself and be who I wanted to be through this style; whether it be in clothes or in lifestyle.

To my readers who are shy and may not also have an opportunity to be kawaii then here is your chance!

Le Cat Coffee Shop: Cafe Review

Thursday, June 4, 2015
Hello everyone! June 3 (Wednesday) was super eventful!

The last event for that day was visiting a cat cafe which is located within my area!
I was so happy to learn about it from Ate Chai who posted a video about it so Lee and I went to visit the very next day.

This is mostly a first impressions review but I will most likely come back to take more pictures and actually order more of their products
(I also apologize in advance for blurry shots ;; )

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hello again! June 6 (Saturday), I returned to the cafe and made it a point to actually dine inside.
Small update, but my insights on the cafe all in all
Cafe insights and additional info are down below!

Pretty Spaces, Organize Yours!

Friday, May 22, 2015
Hello everyone!

I've been itching to write a blog post but sadly I don't really go around and socialize since I'm usually stuck at home . But, this has given me time to reflect on myself and who I want to be.

My bedroom is where I spend most of my time and accomplish all my school work.

So I decided to let it reflect myself and inspire me more!
I got some materials and here's what I have so far :)

 This is "My Wall"

All the decor you see has been organized by me. The posters were given to me while everything else will be explained further in the post! If you like it so far, please keep reading and you can also get some ideas from me on how you can achieve it yourself :)

Kawaii Workshop: Let's Draw Cute Things with Little Miss Paintbrush ♥

Wednesday, May 13, 2015
Hello everyone!

I was able to join Ate Chichi's workshop held at the Bunny Baker Cafe in Quezon City!

I didn't take as many pictures because I was so fixated on what Ate Chichi was saying that I forgot to pull out my phone and snap some shots! > x <

The workshop was hosted by Chichi Romero (aka Little Miss Paintbrush) and I was super excited to go!!

Food Review: Bawai's Kitchen

Wednesday, April 15, 2015
Hello everyone!

Last Sunday, we made plans to go to Tagaytay and try out this restaurant called 'Bawai's Kitchen' !
The owner apparently was one of our previous neighbors and moved out a long while back. The cuisine in this restaurant is Vietnamese ! I'm not very familiar with the Vietnamese food but from all the positive reviews I've heard about this place, I kept an open mind and an empty stomach !

The Bawai's Kitchen was actually quite difficult to find.
'A hidden gem' truly describes this restaurant.

What is also quite unique about this restaurant is that they encourage you to pre-order your food.
They are only open from Thursday to Sunday and their peak days are from Saturday to Sunday
(where reservation is strongly advised)

Also the road was very narrow and difficult to find parking since there is limited space
so please be wary!

A cute cat bell to welcome us
A woman combing her hair

Somewhat like a finding set up. The ceramic cup next to the goblet is for the tea served :)

This is what we ordered from Appetizer to EntreeAppetizer : Goi CuonSalad: Bawai's Salad
Entree: Com Suon Cha
     Curry Cha
                Tom Rang Me

Goi Cuon

It is served with peanut sauce
A very light and fresh.
I absolutely loved this dish
Inside of the roll

Bawai's Salad

Sweet and light with some sour notes.

Tom Rang Me

Curry Ga
Nothing very special about this curry for me.
Did not have the 'wow' factor but still quite yummy!

Com Suon Cha

The meat was very tender and the fat in between could almost melt in your mouth.

Bawai's Tea

Presentation is awesome though I think it could use a garnish to really sell it c:
The flavor was orange since they didn't have they're signature lemon syrup.
Very good though for me it tasted like orange soda.

OVERALL RATING (COMMENT)

I really loved the atmosphere of the restaurant; I believe that is one of their best selling points.
The dining area is at the 2nd floor and the wind and calm atmosphere really matched with the food served. Portion of the food seems like a lot for just one person but if you are to share a single dish, I think it's good to share from 2-3 people. We were 4 at the time but we managed to get full since we bought 3 entree's.

Price: 4/5
This isn't exactly the best place for those who are on a tight budget.
The choices are quite pricey and portion seems a bit small for the price.
Though it does pack with flavor and is quite delicious so I'll give it that !

FINAL VERDICT:
4.5/5

I think what really needs to improve is the service.
It took them a quite a while to serve and some couldn't even smile nor paid mind to us.
There was hardly any staff outside to watch over the guests in case we needed something.
The food, however, was absolutely delicious.

I would definitely come back and bring people with me

  Thanks for reading

Good Movies and Good News

Tuesday, January 13, 2015
Hello everyone!

Sorry for not updating during the weekend! :( I got sick on Sunday (when I was supposed to write this up ) and physically could not write about last week's happenings.

But I'm feeling much better now and I'll let you know what happened during the week before !

Last week was pretty uneventful though we first started classes on the 7th (Wednesday) ! I found out that one of my classes was a free period and attendance was not required, so I might do my scholar service during that time or head home and finish up school work there.

During the weekend, I went over to my friend's house along with my boyfriend and her boyfriend. We just chilled out and watched movies and ate pizza ♥ It was really awesome! We watched Lesson from Evil and The Secret World of Arriety. (Forgive me if I spelt it wrong! ) But I absolutely loved these movies!

~~~~
A Lesson From Evil is a thriller/mystery movie I guess. I would rate this movie an R-16 since there are some scenes of nudity ,torture, and mature themes. If you like blood and good story development, you should try this out !
Summary: I can't really give a summary without giving away what'll happen and who to watch out for. But here goes : School life just isn't the same once a psychopath is among the faculty.
The Secret World of Arriety is a fantasy movie wherein it stars a family of tiny people who live in a small box inside a house in the country side. The family calls themselves "borrowers" only taking things they need without the human beings catching them. However, the main protagonist , Arriety, is seen by a human boy. You guys should watch it since it's by Studio Ghibli and the setting and art is just absolutely beautiful. I want to be a tiny person :'<
~~~~

I also have good news!

My driver's license is now ready ! I also received my report card for last term!

Though I am confident in driving a manual, but I still have to adjust driving with an automatic and our big car :<

 The remarks for my last term were all pretty positive so I'm very happy with that! I hope to keep up my performance as well as become better at what I do :)

~~

I hope all of you can also attain your goals for this new year!

Remember!

Begin with the end in mind :)

Oh and I made a new signature!
Do you like it? :)
